WELCOME TO STOP #4 ON THE HAPPY-ANNIVERSARY 1ROMANCEEBOOKS.COM BLOG TOUR

If you haven't begun this tour by first checking in at 1RomanceEbooks.com to get your registration number that allows you to be eligible to win all of the fabulous prizes involved, you should head off there, right now, and do just that at:

http://1romanceebooks.com/index.php?_a=viewDoc&docId=107

If you've registered already, though, thank you for your participation and for visiting the #4 stop-off on the 1RomanceEbooks.com one-year anniversary tour itinerary! Your stop just previous to this one should have been Teresa D'Amario #3 at--

http://teresadamario.com/blog

--where you made the acquaintance of the author who adores books with Native American characters, legends, epic themes, rugged settings, and, of course, a love story; those the books she loves to write.

Is it a coincidence, do you think, that Native Americans, legends, epic themes, rugged settings, and, of course, a love story (actually several), play an important role in my teen-angst candle-reader, vampire, werewolf, witch, warlock, demon, dragon, chimera, shape-shifter, tree-spirit, metal-bender, shadow people series FLICKER -- #1 BOOK OF ANSWERS soon to hit the book stands?

Well, as luck would have it, it IS just coincidence, but it's a fortuitous one which I'm delighted to advantage, not only by way of providing pre-promotion for my upcoming series of FLICKER books, BUT by way of promoting the series' signature candles, including "the" purple/blue FUSION candle I've given book-cover prominence--

http://www.myspace.com/flickerwarriors

--AND the upcoming series' signature-scent perfume, SPICE/BERRY FUSION--

--all conjured by wax-artisan and perfumer-extraordinaire Jfay--

http://www.studio3bonline.com

Speaking of signature scents, don't forget to check out the absolutely sensational Nosferatu Illume (The Vampire Walks the Light of Day)--

http://www.wickdreads.com/wickdpotions.htm

--that's done exclusively for my Vlad Draqual vampire series of books (SUCKS: FIRST OF THE DRAQUAL VAMPYRE CHRONICLES)--

http://www.myspace.com/draqual

If I'd thought this out more carefully, I might have given away a copy of my Vlad Draqual vampyre book. As it is, though, I AM giving away an:

eBook BOND-SHATTERING, my m/m sci-fi
eBook circuSex: A ONE-HAND READ, my m/m circus-sex erotica
eBook I, DEBAUCHEE, my m/m erotica, first of my "I" series
eBook SS MANN HUNT, my m/m South American adventure
eBook THAI DIED, my bi Thailand adventure (2nd of my STUD DRAQUAL mystery series)

So, please leave your comment and registration number in order to enter the drawings and win ... win ... win.

And if you can tell me in what m/m short story of mine, in which m/m anthology of short stories from MLR Press, I mentioned Xocai healthy chocolate being eaten by one of my characters, it'll give you even more chance of winning.

The next stop on the anniversary blog tour is #5 Bryl Tyne. Is it any coincidence that Byrl, good-looking as hell, is an old buddy and chum of mine?

Well, as luck would have it, it IS a coincidence, but one I'm absolutely delighted in having occur, because I can think of no greater privilege and pleasure for me than to send you along to visit Bryl and acquaint yourself, if not already acquainted, with this author's genuinely marvelous persona AND selection of mighty fine books available for your reading enjoyment.

So, thanks for your visit here, #4, and, now, GET THEE OFF TO Bryl Tyne's place (#5) at --

Adrienne, Amy S, VSlavetopassionv, Kate: Thanks for taking the time to stop on by.

Adrienne, I'll let you know later if you got your answer right. As your regards to f/f, yes, I have written it, but not recently, and not a whole book of it. Usually, since it was accepted by my early erotica publishers, as a viable part of any straight book (where m/m wasn't), it was just usually included in one of those.

VSlavetopassionv, I hope you like circuSex: A ONE-HANDED READ when you read it (maybe you'll be the lucky winner of the ebook). Actually, the book is one of those who has its fans, as well as its ... "Good God, why did you write this!"

Amy S, and Kate, thanks for the stop-by and participation.

Hey, William, that was an amazing Flicker web site. I think I got lost exploring for at least 20 minutes. Artist JFay's Berry Spice Fusion sounds like a great scent combination. I liked her choices of berrys chosen for that candle. I bet it smells wonderful. I found that Gregory, the vampire in FLICKER, enjoys eating xocai chocolates.

Congratulations on your upcoming release.

Welcome -- Laura, Sara, Donna, joder! I couldn't be more delighted that you all decided to stop by as part of the 1RomanceEbook.com "Grand Tour".

It's always fun being "discovered". I've been in this business so bloody long, I sometimes go all egotistical and think everyone must know me and mine -- NOT!

And I appreciate all of the guesses as regards the Xocai chocolate. Will mention, Sara, that while your guess was an exceptionally good one, by way, of Xocai, I, DEBAUCHEE is a novel while I'm looking for the "short story" in an MLR anthology. This meaning, of course, that you were on the right track, but ... no square of Xocai.

Check in any time ... not even needing to do so on a blog tour. It's always fun to chat, even if just to hear you found one of my books "so bloody disappointing" (is that possible, I wonder? -- Yep!).

Hugs.

Armenia ...

I didn't purposely exclude you from the last "Welcome...Welcome". Your comment came in while I was in the middle of responding to the others so didn't see it until mine was posted.

Anyway, welcome, of course. And I'm delighted you took the time to visit the FLICKER site. FLICKER: #1 BOOK OF ANSWERS is supposed to be out later this month. The publisher has ordered the proof copy of the book and wants to make sure things are perfect (as if anything is EVER perfect), before it officially "hits" the stands. While I've written children book (well, one, DOG ON A SURFBOARD AND THE REST OF THE ADVENTURE, by Billy Lambert, soon to be re-issued by FeatherWeight Press), FLICKER is my first venture into the teen-angst vampire, werewolf, shape-shifter, candle-reader genre. So, I'm kind of excited.

And congrats on ferreting out that Gregory, in FLICKER, is so into Xocai that he turns to it when being weaned from blood. BUT, alas, alack, FLICKER is a novel, and I'm needing the Xocai reference in my short story in an MLR Press anthology shared with other writers.

Love those new Jfay fragrances, by the way, and not just because two of them are "mine". I've always been an advocate of "fragrance therapy".

Hugs. With thanks, again, for joining in.

Hey, s7anna, marcieo, and Christine!

Thanks for the stop-bys as part of the 1RomanceEbooks.com Blog Tour!

Candle-reading, Christine,is the ability of some inherently "gifted" people, by merely concentrating on certain candle flames, to divine past and future, sometimes achieving actual reality shifts in the time-space continuum --appearing, disappearing, transforming and transporting--changing in the way they experience time--suddenly, abruptly altering physical reality. AKA: YIKES! Hey, just think of them as "advanced" diviners who use flickering candle flames instead of crystal balls, instead of the lines on the palm of hands, and instead of animal guts, or the way birds fly across the sky.

Thanks for stopping by Cathy!

Now, as to your question: "can you tell me in what m/m short story of mine, in which m/m anthology of short stories from MLR Press, I mentioned Xocai healthy chocolate being eaten by one of my characters"...Is the answer: "RED"?

(I was thinking: Maybe next time, you should have people email their answers to you, and then post the correct answer at the end of the contest. Just a suggestion.)

Have a blessed weekend and I look forward to checking out your books.

Hey, guys...

I got detoured by a sudden need to proof the galleys of my WILLIAM MALTESE'S WINE TASTER'S DIARY: SPOKANE/PULLMAN WINE REGION, and I wasn't able to make make it back, here, in a more timely fashion to say thanks to those who checked in during my absence.

Hopefully, better late than never.

Firstly, Melissa, Loretta, Lisa, Kim S, Donna, yadkny, and Deb 830 -- thanks for having taken the time, and made the effort, to not only participate in 1RomanceEbooks.com Anniversary Blog Tour, but to having taken the time to check in here.

As for those who asked specific questions, like Uncle Moose, and Beth, and Brandywine, and Kathrin, I'll post something individually in just a minute.

williammaltese said...

Uncle Moose.

Thanks for venturing off, into other William Maltese realms, to check out my B&D and "things swinging in the wind". As an interesting aside, I'm presently helping John U. Abrahamson, the artist who did my portrait for the cover of my B&D short-story collection, LOVE HURTS, write his (auto)biography. What a life he's led!

Certainly, I've always found B&D a worthy subject for writing and have even gone so far as to include elements of it into my mainstream (a la my THE FAG IS NOT FOR BURNING -- which, by the way, whatever anyone tells you, is not my Roman a clef detailing my days hobnobbing with Seattle's artsy-fartsy set.

Anyway, thanks for the stop-by. 'Twas appreciated!

williammaltese said...

Beth.

Congratulations to you in having had the smarts to raise a daughter who isn't adverse to exploring "subject matter a little different."

I keep trying, slowly but surely, to introduce m/m into my mainstream fiction (my upcoming FLICKER: #1 BOOK OF ANSWERS has a gay couple in it), just so that it becomes a more and more familiar subject and won't so often send middle-America into panic mode.

The recent explosion of m/m fiction readers among women. has surprised many, but I've been telling publishers for years that men have always enjoyed f/f, and women surely must enjoy m/m if they'd just ever get the opportunity to express that enjoyment. Seems like the time is now.

Thanks for participating in the 1RomanceEbook.com Grand Tour, for stopping by, for leaving a comment.

williammaltese said...

Brandlwine:

While lately, it does seem that most of my books have been m/m ... and, though, I have certainly been writing m/m for a very long time (have been "there" in the halycon days of gay fiction; God I feel old when suddenly being indexed in reference books) ... I've always been into other "things" as well. And while I used to separate my m/f and m/m and children and non-fiction works into separate pen names -- at one time having had 29 -- I've since lumped a lot of them under William Maltese. Just make sure, when you check in at amazon.com or bn.com that you check out the brief book synopses to see what kind of book you're getting. Even my old Harlequin SuperRomances (LOVE'S EMERALD FLAME, FROM THIS BELOVED HOUR, LOVE'S GOLDEN SPELL) can now be found re-issued as written by William Maltese.

I DO still keep my children book pen name, Billy Lambert, because the last thing I'd want is a kid, or his parents picking up one of my racier William Maltese offerings...and I have recently gone back to Willa Lambert for my just-issued AFRICA: SPICE ISLAND LOVE (first of my Seven-Continent series of m/f books) for the new PIPP imprint ... but it is William Maltese getting all of the credit for my m/f DARE TO LOVE IN OZ, MY Australian epic that hit the book stands just a couple of months ago. I'm still trying to figure out whether the women who read m/f fiction really do want to think that they're women books written for women by women (which Harlequin certainly believed and continues to do so).

Anyway, I've all sorts of genre books "out there". So if you want something other than m/m of mine, just take the time to peruse what's being offered and take your pick. Think, in one form or another, I have something like 71 books (ebook and otherwise) being offered up on bn.com, including a help-cook-book THE GLUTEN FREE WAY: MY WAY, written with my niece.

Good reading, no matter what the author!

And thanks for participating in the 1RomanceEbook.com Grand Blog Tour and stopping by to make a comment.

williammaltese said...

Ah Kathrin!

Ah Germany!

I have several German-language editions of my books (m/m -- from Bruno Gmunder; first of my bi Stud Draqual mysteries DESSOUS ZUM STERBEN from Rotbuch Krimi; and "Doppelmorder" short story in QUEER CRIME, edited by Lisa Kuppler, from Querverlag). And, of course, back in my Harlequin SuperRomance days, there were German-editions of those, too.

A lot of my m/f/m novels were mainly back in the pulp days when I was doing the likes of THE SEX LAB, THE SIXTY-NINERS, POP'N'SWAP, although I do still try to mix it up in the likes of my mainstream THE GOMORRAH CONJURATIONS.

Thanks for participating in 1RomanceEbooks.com Grand Blog Tour and taking the time to make a comment.

williammaltese said...

Dear Alma/Anonymous-no-longer.

Admittedly, most of my m/f/m novels were written back in my pulp-book heydays when I was writing the likes of STARSHIP INTERCOURSE, THE DOCTOR'S UNORTHODOX PRACTICE, JAMAICAN TRADERS. That said, I always try to provide variations, like in my still-availableStud Draqual mystery series (A SLIP TO DIE FOR and THAI DIED) where the main protagonist is either bi, or just confused. You'll, also, find some switch-hitting more recently in my A FAG IS NOT FOR BURNING, and THE GOMORRAH CONJURATIONS. In that I'm a firm believer that variety IS the spice of life.

Thanks for participating in the 1RomanceEbooks.com Grand Blog Tour. I appreciate you having stopped by.

williammaltese said...

Alma (re: your "history" question)--

Almost forgot. While "historical" is a genre I tend to shy away from (so much need to get the time line "right"), probably able to count on one hand the number I've actually done -- GAIUS MAXIMUS back in my pulp-fiction days; my genuinely hard-core m/f SS&M, and my short story "Ludus Scaenicus Mortis Rubrae" in the MLR Press anthology RED -- the historical of mine (written with Professor Wayne Gunn)which has recently received the most attention and notoriety, is,THE ARDENNIAN BOY, the story of the rather seedy love affair between the French poets Arthur Rimbaud and Paul Verlaine (one gay, one bisexual). A book some like, some detest. (A lot of the original French poetry steamily translated specifically for the book by Professor Gunn).
